Codex with ChatGPT

A Codex skill that uses an already-paid ChatGPT web subscription as the planning and review brain for a Codex coding session, through a read-only MCP bridge.

Codex with ChatGPT

Codex with ChatGPT is aimed at a specific waste: a paid ChatGPT Plus or Pro web subscription sitting idle while a coding agent spends metered API tokens on planning and review. It moves that thinking to the ChatGPT web app over an OAuth-protected, read-only MCP connection that reads only the lines of the current workspace ChatGPT actually needs, while Codex keeps full ownership of execution and the repository is never uploaded.

Installation copies a skill folder into Codex's skill directory; from then on, a user asks Codex in plain language to set up or use the bridge, and Codex configures the MCP connection, tunnel, and workspace bridge itself. The skill also checks GitHub daily for a newer version and can update itself, or be updated on request.

It is written in TypeScript and distributed under the MIT license.
