Coding Agents on Databricks Apps

Coding Agents on Databricks Apps runs Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Hermes Agent and OpenCode in the browser with no local setup, wired to a user's Databricks workspace. It runs as a hosted Databricks App inside a tenant, alongside Databricks' own in-product Genie Code agent that lives in notebooks and the SQL editor.

Every model call routes through Databricks Foundation Model APIs with no third-party egress, and every tool call routes through governed MCP servers enforcing Unity Catalog access rules, MLflow tracing, and a named human identity. Each agent installs at boot and connects to a Databricks AI Gateway automatically once a short-lived token is pasted in, and that token auto-rotates every ten minutes. It is provided as an exploratory, unsupported sample, not a Databricks product with a service-level agreement.
