Complete Guide to MCP in Python

A beginner-to-advanced course that teaches the Model Context Protocol by building MCP servers and clients from scratch in Python, and deploying them locally and remotely.

Complete Guide to MCP in Python

This repository is a course covering the architecture, protocol and real-world implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) using Python exclusively. It explains what MCP is and why it matters — a standard way for LLMs, agents and applications to talk to APIs, databases, local tools, external services, resources and prompts — then walks a learner from beginner, through understanding MCP, to building MCP servers and clients and deploying MCP applications.

Topics covered include Streamable HTTP versus STDIO transport, the MCP Inspector, remote MCP servers, and multi-server orchestration, with hands-on projects for building and publishing multiple MCP servers and clients.

It is MIT licensed.
