Context7 Platform

Context7 fetches up-to-date, version-specific documentation and code examples for a library directly into an LLM prompt, instead of the model relying on outdated training data or invented APIs.

Context7 Platform

It works in two modes: a CLI plus an installed skill that fetches documentation through its own commands without needing MCP, or a registered MCP server that lets an agent call documentation tools natively. A prompt can reference an exact library by its Context7 identifier, or mention a specific version, to skip the library-matching step and go straight to retrieving the right docs.

Setup authenticates through OAuth and generates an API key, with flags to target a specific agent such as Cursor, Claude Code or OpenCode, and an added rule can make an agent invoke it automatically whenever it needs library or API documentation, code generation, or setup and configuration steps.

Requires Node.js 18 or newer. TypeScript, MIT licensed.
