Contrabass
A terminal-first, Go and Charm-stack orchestrator for issue-driven AI coding agent runs, reimplementing an existing multi-agent orchestration design to manage work across git worktrees rather than managing individual agent conversations.
Contrabass drives coding-agent work from issues rather than chat: a CLI with terminal, headless, and embedded web-dashboard modes reads a workflow file with YAML front matter and templated prompts, pulls issues from Linear, GitHub Issues, or a built-in local board, and provisions each unit of work in its own git worktree, falling back to a non-git mode for repositories without git.
Its Teams feature coordinates multiple agents through a phased plan-exec-verify pipeline with a local task board, live terminal team table, and either a tmux-based multi-process worker mode or a goroutine-based in-process mode; the orchestrator underneath handles claim and release, blocked-by gating, orphan-claim recovery, branch-advance verification, stall detection, and deterministic retry backoff. Supported agent runners include Codex app-server, OpenCode, and several community wrapper runtimes.
A companion React dashboard adds a three-pane IDE-style layout with live streaming, queue navigation, and issue-detail views. It requires Go 1.25 or newer, Bun for the dashboard, git, and tmux for the default team worker mode.
