Copilot MCP Search for VS Code

A VS Code extension for discovering, installing and managing open-source MCP servers and AI agent skills, and exposing them to GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and Codex CLI from one panel.

Copilot MCP Search for VS Code

The extension adds an MCP Servers view to the VS Code Activity Bar for connecting to and managing multiple MCP servers, and a Skills view for searching skills published on skills.sh and installing them to configured agents. A server discovery panel automatically finds open-source MCP servers.

For servers that run through npx or uvx, the discovery panel can also offer a hosted "Cloud MCP" option that runs the server remotely over OAuth instead of locally, so no local process or install is required. Once servers and skills are connected, GitHub Copilot Chat can use their tools.

The extension collects anonymous usage events, including search terms, the names of public GitHub repositories and skill sources acted on, OS and extension version, and truncated error diagnostics, to understand which features are used. It requires VS Code and the GitHub Copilot Chat extension.
