Cortex

An agent-native command-line development tool: an AI coding assistant continuously fine-tuned through community-driven incentives, focused on optimizing code for performance and system efficiency.

Cortex

Cortex is a command-line coding assistant, described as an agent-native development CLI, whose underlying agent is continuously fine-tuned through community-driven incentives that let contributors collaborate and compete to improve it. It is aimed at optimizing code for raw performance and system efficiency at scale.

It installs with a shell script on Linux and macOS or a PowerShell script on Windows, or through manual binary downloads for Linux (x86_64 and ARM64), macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), and Windows (x86_64 and ARM64), with an environment variable available to pin a specific version during installation. Once installed, running the command starts a new session, or a task can be passed directly as an argument; the tool can also update itself in place.
