Databricks AI Dev Kit

A field-engineering toolkit that installs Databricks-focused skills, an MCP server and a Builder App into AI coding agents, now being succeeded by an official, engineering-owned Databricks AI Tools package.

Databricks AI Dev Kit

Databricks AI Dev Kit is a set of skills, an MCP server and a Builder App for using AI coding agents on Databricks. Its skills are being superseded by Databricks AI Tools, an engineering-owned repository installed and updated through the Databricks CLI, which any agent can use and which adds Genie One integration; the AI Dev Kit installer now guides users through installing that official package by delegating to the CLI.

The MCP server and Builder App remain in this repository and continue to be developed, while the bundled skill files are deprecated and kept only for reference. The project also plans tutorials for using coding agents with Databricks Genie Code and Omnigent.

It removed its litellm dependency from most usage after a supply-chain vulnerability was disclosed in that package, keeping it only in the test suite. It is written in Python.
