DataScienceProjects

DataScienceProjects is a collection of data science and statistics projects, most of them written up as accompanying articles. Football-related projects apply Bayesian statistics to compare player penalty-taking ability, use Poisson processes for match prediction, test betting strategies against a Poisson model, and revisit classic hypothesis-testing debates.

Other projects cover general statistical theory, including probabilistic arguments applied outside sports, worked examples of Bayes' theorem, and the Rule of Three applied to estimating the probability of rare events in areas such as voting, vaccine development, and quality monitoring.

The code is written in Python or R depending on which language's tools suit a given project, such as scraping in Python or data manipulation with dplyr piping in R.

    github.com

Conway's Game of Life implemented to run directly from a 512-byte x86 boot sector in assembly, using VGA memory itself as the simulation grid.

  • A technical blog post deriving the Y combinator as a composition of combinator birds in an array language, and examining how eager evaluation changes fixed-point recursion compared with the usual lazy telling.

  • System Design Atlas

    atlas-sysdes.vercel.app

A free reference of worked system design problems with interactive architecture diagrams, covering ranked designs such as a feed, a chat app, a URL shortener, and a rate limiter, plus pages on the technologies behind them.
