DaVinci Resolve MCP Server

DaVinci Resolve MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol server that lets AI assistants control DaVinci Resolve Studio through its official scripting API. It provides full coverage of that API plus guarded workflow helpers for editing, media pool organization, render setup, review markers, color grading, Fusion, Fairlight, project lifecycle tasks, extension authoring and source-safe media analysis, and ships a local browser control panel for inspecting Resolve's state and editing analysis output inline.

It installs by running a setup command through npx, which installs a managed copy of the server and its Python installer, creates a virtual environment, detects the Resolve installation, and can configure clients such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed, Continue, Cline, Roo Code, OpenCode, Codex CLI and JetBrains IDEs. Before connecting, Resolve's external scripting preference must be set to Local; on the free edition, external scripting is gated entirely, so the project instead reaches it through a script launched from Resolve's own Scripts menu that re-exports the live session over an authenticated local listener.

It is written in Python and released under the MIT license.
