DBHub
A minimal, token-efficient Model Context Protocol server that lets AI clients connect to and explore PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle, and SQLite databases through a single interface.
DBHub is an MCP server that exposes a database to AI clients such as Claude Code, VS Code, and Cursor with a minimal set of tools, aiming to keep as much of an agent's context window as possible free for its actual work. By default it loads only two tools, for executing SQL and for searching database objects, with additional tools such as showing an execution plan or a health check available as opt-in extras.
It can connect to multiple databases at once through a TOML configuration file, and includes guardrails such as a read-only mode, row limits, and query timeouts, along with SSH tunneling and TLS for secure access. It is used as the official example in the Claude Code documentation for connecting to PostgreSQL over MCP.
It is written in TypeScript and released under the MIT license.
