DeepChat

An open-source, local-first desktop client for AI agents that brings chat, tool use, Skills, and Agent Client Protocol support into one Electron application.

DeepChat

DeepChat organizes agent work around what it calls Tape and Trace, alongside support for MCP tools, Skills, and the Agent Client Protocol, and can be remote-controlled through connected messaging apps. It works with any model provider exposed in the OpenAI, Gemini, or Anthropic API formats, rather than being tied to one vendor.

The project brings together models, tools, Skills, agent runtimes, and long-running sessions into a single desktop app rather than a browser tab, and documents its own development, build, and contribution process for those wanting to extend it. It is distributed in Chinese, English, and Japanese.

It is written in TypeScript on Electron and distributed under the Apache-2.0 license.
