DevSpace
A self-hosted MCP server that gives ChatGPT a secure, password-approved connection to a person's own machine so it can read, edit, search and run code in real local projects.
DevSpace runs on a user's own machine, is exposed through a tunnel the user controls, and is approved with a password only the user has, so nothing is uploaded to a third party. The same /mcp endpoint serves the 2026-07-28 per-request protocol and automatically supports older 2025-era clients through stateless compatibility handling.
Once connected, it lets ChatGPT open an approved project folder as a workspace, read, write and edit files inside it, search code and inspect directories, run shell commands for tests, builds, git and package scripts, use isolated Git worktrees for parallel sessions, follow a project's AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md instructions, discover local agent skills, and show tool cards or change summaries in compatible hosts.
It requires Node 22.19 or newer and is written in TypeScript.
