Docmancer
A local-first tool that backs up and restores the memory, history and configuration Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini write on a machine, then consolidates the durable, transcript-linked lessons into shared project memory reviewed before use.
Docmancer indexes the memory, rules and instructions that Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini write on a machine, and restores or carries the useful, durable parts to every agent and machine a developer uses. A dry-run backup previews what it can protect, and a passphrase-encrypted local archive backs it up for free; agent backup and restore are noted as development-preview commands, while managed cloud snapshots remain gated on further migration and recovery work.
On a new machine, restoring merges only safe configuration, skips identical files, quarantines divergent sessions, and never copies authentication stores, .env files, literal MCP environment values, caches, logs, telemetry or machine keys. A separate consolidation step finds durable decisions and constraints across the protected agent histories, links every proposal to exact transcript evidence, and waits for a human review and approval before it becomes shared project memory, addressing the problem that CLAUDE.md files, AGENTS.md files, Cursor rules, agent memory directories and session history each hold different, sometimes contradictory, knowledge in a different place per tool.
It is local-first and released under the MIT license.
