dsh-better-sidebar

A plugin that adds an editable code editor, an enhanced file tree, a Git panel, task management and a side chat to DSH's sidebar, and exposes a service API for other plugins to register their own tabs and file viewers.

dsh-better-sidebar

dsh-better-sidebar is a plugin that extends DSH's built-in sidebar with capabilities its official version lacks. Where DSH's own document preview is read-only, the plugin keeps an editable CodeMirror-based code editor with save, syntax highlighting and a preview toggle, plus its own Markdown and HTML rendering with safely rendered Mermaid diagrams, embedded README-style HTML and a floating table of contents.

It also adds a file tree with lazy loading, live directory watching, symlink recognition, global filename search and drag-and-drop upload; a Git panel showing diffs, history and staged changes alongside the current AI edit view; sub-agent topology and background task management with exit codes and live output; and a beta side-chat thread that inherits the main conversation's context. A service is exposed to other plugins so they can register additional tabs and file viewers, and more than 28 ecosystem plugins already use it.

It is written in TypeScript and requires a specific DSH version range, with older DSH versions needing an older plugin release.
