ECA Emacs

ECA Emacs is an Emacs client for Editor Code Assistant, an AI pair-programming server that provides interactive chat, code suggestions and context management inside the editor.

ECA Emacs

ECA Emacs connects Emacs to an external eca server process over JSON-RPC, in the style of lsp-mode, to provide AI pair-programming features: interactive chat, code suggestions and context management. The server binary downloads automatically unless a custom command is configured, and speech-to-text input is available through whisper.el.

It installs via Melpa, use-package with a Git source, or as a Doom Emacs package. A dedicated chat window accepts prompts and lets you attach extra context with an @ completion. A workspaces dashboard lists all workspaces and chats with live status, elapsed time, cost and model, and supports opening, folding, creating, deleting, renaming, forking, compacting and accepting or rejecting tool calls from the keyboard. A settings panel manages MCP server connections.
