EntityFramework Reverse POCO Code First Generator

A Visual Studio extension and command-line tool that reverse-engineers an existing database into Entity Framework Code First POCO classes, configuration mappings, a DbContext, and a fake DbContext for unit testing.

EntityFramework Reverse POCO Code First Generator

EntityFramework Reverse POCO Code First Generator reads an existing database and generates Entity Framework Code First classes as if a developer had reverse-engineered the schema and written the code by hand. It produces POCO classes, configuration mappings, enumerations, a DbContext, a fake DbContext for easy unit testing, and calls to stored procedures and table-valued functions, and the generated code can be customized further.

Version 4 splits the tool in two: a command-line tool that reads the database schema in its own process, avoiding the assembly-loading and bitness conflicts that came from opening the database connection inside the Visual Studio template host in version 3, and a Visual Studio extension, or a manual template setup in JetBrains Rider, that generates the code from the schema the command-line tool produced. This split also lets MySQL and Oracle be supported properly.

It requires Visual Studio 2022 or later, or Rider, and the .NET 10 runtime for its command-line tool.
