EVA

A single-file, zero-dependency AI agent for Linux and Windows operations that only needs Python and an API key, with directory-scoped sessions and a safety check before running anything beyond read commands.

EVA

EVA is one Python file that acts as a lightweight coding and operations agent: it can write scripts and tests, run shell commands and analyze data, needing only a Python interpreter to run. By default it executes only read commands automatically; any other command requires explicit confirmation, framed by the author as a deliberate safeguard given how easily a single script this small could otherwise act destructively.

Sessions are scoped to the directory EVA is started in, so returning to the same folder continues the previous conversation. It speaks the OpenAI-compatible API format, so it can point at a locally hosted model through Ollama or vLLM, or at a hosted provider such as DeepSeek or OpenAI, configured through three environment variables or written directly into the script. A local configuration file holds its editable persona and skills, which EVA can also generate for itself by analyzing a folder of skill files, and it has been wired into a WeChat bot for remote use.
