Exa MCP Server

An MCP server that connects AI agents to Exa for web search, content fetching and multi-step research.

Exa MCP Server

Exa MCP Server installs as a hosted MCP server at a fixed URL, or as an agent plugin for clients such as Claude, Codex/ChatGPT, Kiro, LM Studio, Replit, Grok Build, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Windsurf, Google Antigravity, Zed, Warp or v0; most other MCP clients can be configured manually with the standard mcpServers shape.

Its default tools are web_search_exa, which searches the web and returns clean, ready-to-use content, and web_fetch_exa, which reads a webpage's full content as markdown from one or more URLs. Optional tools enabled through a URL parameter add agent_run, an Exa agent for multi-step research, list-building, enrichment and structured output that requires authentication, and web_search_advanced_exa, filtered search by domain, date, highlights, summaries and subpage crawling.

It is written in TypeScript and licensed under MIT.
