Foolery

Foolery is a local orchestration application that sits on top of a memory-manager backend, primarily a tool called Knots, with Beads also supported, to give a developer one place to stage work, run agents and review outcomes across repositories. Rather than being another chat interface around a coding model, it is meant to make multi-step agent work visible: what is queued, what is currently active, what is ready for review, and what happened in past sessions.

It launches and monitors agent sessions through their own command-line interfaces, auto-detecting installed agents such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot CLI and adapting its command invocation and output parsing to each one's own dialect. It installs with a shell script, and a setup command hands configuration to whichever supported agent CLI is found on the system to walk through discovering repositories, detecting backends and writing its configuration files; without any agent CLI installed, it falls back to a web interface for manual configuration.
