Frappe MCP

A library that lets a Frappe Framework application function as a Streamable HTTP Model Context Protocol server, registering existing app functions as MCP tools.

Frappe MCP

Frappe MCP lets a Frappe application expose its own functions as MCP tools, decorated directly in the app's Python code, and serves them over Streamable HTTP at a URL the app already handles.

It exists because the official MCP Python SDK assumes an async ASGI server, while Frappe runs on the synchronous WSGI server Werkzeug, so this is a from-scratch implementation rather than a wrapper around the official SDK. The project currently supports only MCP tools; resources, prompts and tool streaming over SSE are noted as still to come, and the maintainers describe it as highly experimental with possible breaking changes.

It installs with pip or uv, and authentication can use a Frappe instance's existing OAuth2 support or a registered OAuth client.
