Funplay MCP for Unity

An MIT-licensed MCP server that lets AI assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot operate directly inside a running Unity Editor project, creating scenes, generating scripts, and driving play-mode testing from a single prompt.

Funplay MCP for Unity

Funplay MCP for Unity exposes Unity Editor operations as MCP tools so a connected AI assistant can build a game from a natural-language description: it creates scenes, generates and wires up scripts, sets up UI, simulates input, and validates behavior in play mode as part of one workflow, rather than requiring a developer to translate each step manually. It also runs performance analysis and general editor automation.

It installs into Unity through the Unity Package Manager, either from a git URL or, for registry-backed version history, from OpenUPM, and starts its MCP server from a menu command inside the Unity Editor. Each project's server is assigned its own port derived from the project path, so multiple open Unity editors on different projects do not conflict with each other.

It supports Claude Code, Cursor, Kimi Code, LM Studio, Windsurf, Codex, and VS Code Copilot as MCP clients.
