A fast, self-contained AI coding agent that lives in the terminal, editing code, running commands and driving tools with cost-aware routing and automatic failover across LLM providers.

FuXi

FuXi is a fast, self-contained terminal AI coding agent. It reads code, edits files, runs commands and drives other tools from a rich text interface, routing requests across LLM providers by cost and falling back automatically when one is unavailable. It is built in Go and ships as a single static binary with no runtime dependencies; its own roughly two million lines of code were written entirely by FuXi itself.

It installs with a shell or PowerShell bootstrap script, and registration and sign-in give access to FuXi-managed models, or a user can configure their own provider's API key through an environment variable or a YAML config file. Sensitive tool calls normally ask for approval; a bypass-permissions mode skips that prompt but still blocks extreme commands such as recursively removing the root filesystem, and it is recommended only inside a container or virtual machine.

It is provider-agnostic and supports the Model Context Protocol.
