gcloud MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol server that lets an AI assistant run gcloud CLI operations against Google Cloud in natural language, alongside sibling MCP servers for observability, storage and backup and disaster recovery.
The gcloud MCP server lets an AI assistant interact with a Google Cloud environment using the gcloud CLI in natural language instead of memorized command syntax, flags and arguments, chaining multiple cloud operations into a single repeatable request and lowering the barrier for team members less familiar with gcloud to perform actions confidently.
The same repository hosts three sibling MCP servers: an observability server for querying Google Cloud logs, metrics and traces; a storage server for managing Cloud Storage buckets and objects; and a backup and disaster recovery server for Google Cloud Backup and DR.
Each server installs as a Gemini CLI extension with npx @google-cloud/ init --agent=gemini-cli, run once from the home directory to make it available across all of a user's projects, and installation can be verified with gemini mcp list. It requires Node.js 20 or higher and the gcloud CLI.
