GitHub Copilot CLI SDKs

A multi-language SDK, for Python, TypeScript, Go, .NET, Java and Rust, that embeds GitHub Copilot's agentic coding engine into an application, exposing the same runtime behind the Copilot CLI.

GitHub Copilot CLI SDKs

The GitHub Copilot CLI SDKs embed Copilot's agentic workflows in an application, with packages for Python, TypeScript, Go, .NET, Java and Rust. Each SDK exposes the same engine behind Copilot CLI, a production-tested agent runtime, so a developer defines agent behavior while Copilot handles planning, tool invocation and file edits without building custom orchestration.

All SDKs communicate with a Copilot CLI server over JSON-RPC; the SDK manages the CLI process lifecycle automatically, or a client can connect to an externally run CLI server instead. The Node.js, Python and .NET SDKs bundle the Copilot CLI automatically, while the Go, Rust and Java SDKs require it to be installed and available on the path, and the Go and Rust SDKs also expose application-level CLI bundling.

It installs through each language's own package manager, and is released under the MIT license.
