GitHub Copilot for Vim and Neovim

The official Vim and Neovim plugin for GitHub Copilot, turning comments and method names into inline code suggestions that can be accepted with a keypress.

GitHub Copilot for Vim and Neovim

Copilot.vim is GitHub's Vim and Neovim plugin for GitHub Copilot, an AI pair-programming tool trained on public code that turns natural-language prompts, including comments and method names, into inline coding suggestions across many languages.

It requires Vim 9.0.0185 or newer, or Neovim, plus Node.js, and installs through a plugin manager such as vim-plug or lazy.nvim, or by cloning the repository into Vim's package directory. Suggestions appear inline and are accepted with the tab key, and using it requires an active GitHub Copilot subscription.
