Grafana MCP server

Grafana MCP server is a Model Context Protocol server for Grafana, giving AI assistants and coding tools access to a Grafana instance and its surrounding ecosystem. It is installed by adding a small JSON configuration block that runs it through uvx, pointing at a Grafana URL and a service account token, or at a Grafana Cloud instance.

It requires Grafana 9.0 or later for full functionality, since some datasource-related operations depend on API endpoints missing from earlier versions. Its dashboard tools can search dashboards by title, folder, tag or starred status, fetch a dashboard by UID or a past version, summarize a dashboard's panels and variables without its full JSON, extract specific fields with JSONPath expressions, and create, update or patch dashboards, designed to limit how much context window space a single call consumes.

It is written in Go and released under the Apache 2.0 license.
