GrapeRoot

GrapeRoot is an open-source launcher that builds a semantic graph of a codebase's files, symbols and call chains, then pre-loads the relevant code into an AI coding assistant's prompt, instead of letting the assistant discover context turn by turn.

GrapeRoot

GrapeRoot sits between a developer and an AI coding assistant such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini or OpenCode. Running its launcher command scans a project and builds a semantic graph of its files, symbols, imports and call chains, then uses that graph to identify and pack the relevant files into the prompt before the assistant sees a question.

This differs from tools that hand an assistant a graph and let it explore by calling search or lookup tools turn by turn; GrapeRoot pre-loads context so the assistant can answer from the first turn instead of spending turns exploring. The graph also remembers which files were read, edited or queried in a session, so token savings compound as a session continues. The launcher scripts are open source under Apache 2.0, while the underlying graph-engine package is proprietary.
