Grok Build GUI

An open-source Electron desktop client for the xAI Grok Build coding agent, giving the native grok CLI runtime a visual interface with parallel sessions, native tool execution and MCP support.

Grok Build GUI

Grok Build GUI is an open-source Electron desktop application for the native Grok Build coding agent from xAI. It runs the actual grok CLI and TUI runtime underneath rather than reimplementing it, receiving live output through the runtime's streaming JSON format and resuming multi-turn sessions through its native session IDs.

The desktop client, CLI and TUI share the same sessions, memory, tools, permissions and configuration file, so behavior stays consistent across all three. It supports shell, file, search, web and edit tools, MCP servers, skills, plugins, hooks and subagents, alongside side agents, persistent terminals, an embedded browser and Git integration for parallel local development, and both OpenAI-compatible and Anthropic third-party models can be added to the same configuration and agent loop. Credentials, files and Git state stay on the local machine and API keys are kept out of the Electron renderer process.

It is written in Rust and available for Windows, macOS and Linux under the Apache-2.0 license.
