Harness
A native macOS terminal that runs sessions in a background daemon so they survive quitting the app, with GPU rendering and a scriptable CLI, and that watches coding agents to flag when one needs approval.
Harness is a native macOS terminal where every pane renders on its own GPU engine, with accurate sRGB color, ligatures, inline images and hundreds of built-in themes. Splits and sessions are owned by a background daemon, so they and their scrollback survive quitting the app or restarting the daemon, and can be attached to from the command line, including a headless or remote daemon reached over SSH.
It watches the coding agents running inside it, such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, by their process tree, shows which session is running what, and notifies the user when an agent stops or asks for approval, with a shortcut that jumps straight to the waiting session.
The terminal engine, daemon and CLI are all first-party Swift, with Sparkle as the only external dependency for GUI auto-updates. It ships as a signed, notarized app for Apple silicon Macs, and its daemon and CLI also run on Linux so a remote machine can host sessions.
