Hive

An AI agent orchestration tool for open-source project maintenance, using a deterministic pipeline to classify GitHub issues and pull requests before dispatching only judgment calls to AI agents.

Hive

Hive is a single Go binary that enumerates GitHub issues and pull requests, classifies them by complexity through a deterministic pipeline of shell scripts, and dispatches the ones judged worth agent attention to an AI agent on a cadence that adapts to how much work is queued. The deterministic layer handles filtering, classification, merge-gating and enforcement before any model sees the work, so agents are only asked to make judgment calls, such as reading code, reasoning about a fix, or writing a pull request.

It runs as two standalone services, Hive itself and an authenticating gateway, started with either Docker Compose, the default, or Podman through systemd Quadlet units, and exposes a web dashboard for monitoring queue depth and agent activity. It requires Docker Engine or Podman, git, openssl and a GitHub token for the organization it works on.
