HostedGPT

A free, open-source, self-hostable alternative to ChatGPT, built with Ruby on Rails, that lets a user bring their own API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or other providers and switch between them mid-conversation.

HostedGPT

HostedGPT is a Ruby on Rails application that gives an open-source, self-hostable alternative to ChatGPT, supporting multiple providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Groq through a user's own API keys rather than a subscription. It can be deployed to a hosting service such as Render, Fly.io or Heroku, run on a personal server, or run locally, including through Docker.

It supports switching providers and models mid-conversation for comparing outputs, and can perform web searches with a Brave Search API key. It can also connect a user's Google account to read and act on email and tasks from within a conversation, with calendar integration planned. The interface supports mobile use by adding it to a phone's home screen, and includes German localization.

Authentication options include password login, Google OAuth, Microsoft Graph OAuth, or HTTP-header authentication for deployments that handle authentication elsewhere. It is distributed under the MIT license.
