HP Z Toolkit

A VS Code extension that installs a curated open-source AI development stack on HP Z devices and automatically discovers them on the local network.

HP Z Toolkit

The HP Z Toolkit is a Visual Studio Code extension that automates setup of AI development tools on HP Z workstations. From a single command in VS Code, it installs and configures Python packages for model fine-tuning, experiment tracking, and inference, along with tools such as Ollama, Gradio, Streamlit, MiniForge, and an MLflow server, built for the device's ARM or AMD64 architecture and Blackwell GPU.

It also includes lightweight IP discovery that locates an HP Z device on the local network, even after DHCP assigns it a new address, removing the need to manually reconnect after a router reboot or network change.

The usage flow is: install the extension, run device discovery from the Device Manager, connect over SSH (the toolkit creates SSH keys for you), then select components to install from the curated AI stack.
