The Jina AI Remote MCP Server is a hosted MCP server for Jina's Reader, Search, Embeddings and Reranker APIs. Its tools include reading a web page or PDF as markdown, capturing a screenshot of a page, guessing a page's publish date, searching the web, arXiv or SSRN, searching for images, reranking documents by relevance to a query, deduplicating a set of strings by semantic similarity, and extracting figures, tables and equations from a PDF.
It can be reached directly at a hosted URL for MCP clients that support remote servers, added to Claude Code with a single command, or configured in OpenAI Codex; clients without remote MCP support connect through a local mcp-remote proxy instead. Some tools work without a Jina API key, while others require one.
