Khoj
A self-hostable personal AI application that chats with any local or hosted language model, answers questions from the web or a user's own documents, and can run scheduled research automations.
Khoj connects to local or online language models, including Llama, Qwen, Gemma, Mistral, GPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek, and answers questions using the internet or a user's own documents, including images, PDFs, Markdown, org-mode, Word and Notion files. It is reachable from a browser, Obsidian, Emacs, a desktop app, a phone, or WhatsApp.
Users can create agents with a custom knowledge base, persona, chat model and tools for a specific role, schedule recurring research so personal newsletters and notifications arrive automatically, search documents with semantic search, generate images, and use voice input and output.
It is open-source, self-hostable, and also offered as a hosted cloud app and an enterprise on-premises or hybrid deployment. It is written in Python and licensed under AGPL-3.0.
