Kilo Code

Kilo Code is an AI coding agent that works from VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, or a command-line interface. It is open source with open pricing: a user picks from more than 500 models, can switch between them mid-task, and pays the model provider's own rate with no markup and no API key required to start.

It installs as a VS Code extension, a JetBrains plugin, or a CLI package through npm, curl, pnpm, Bun, Homebrew or the Arch User Repository, and also ships prebuilt binaries for Windows, macOS and Linux. It can also run as a cloud agent from a browser with no local machine, and can be set up to run automated code reviews on pull requests.

It ships with specialized agents that a developer switches between depending on the task, such as a default Code agent that implements and edits code, and a Plan agent that designs architecture and writes an implementation plan before any code is written. It is written in TypeScript and licensed under the MIT license.
