Kiso
A pair of tools that validate an Open Knowledge Format bundle of Markdown documents and publish it as a static knowledge website, plus an MCP server that lets an AI agent search and use that same bundle directly.
Kiso is built around Open Knowledge Format (OKF) bundles, which remain the single source of truth for both of its applications. The kiso-cli tool validates the Markdown files in a bundle, reporting formatting or structural errors and broken links as warnings, and then builds a static website from the bundle containing generated HTML pages alongside the original Markdown files; it can run from the command line or through a GitHub Action.
The kiso-mcp-server application instead starts a Model Context Protocol server that lets an MCP-compatible AI application access the knowledge contained in an OKF bundle directly, without going through the generated website. Generated output can include llms.txt and a sitemap.xml alongside the HTML pages, and social preview images can be generated with a supported SVG-to-PNG tool such as rsvg-convert, Inkscape or resvg.
It is written in Java and released under the Apache-2.0 license.
