Kong Gateway

Kong Gateway is a cloud-native, platform-agnostic API gateway that also governs LLM and MCP traffic, adding multi-provider AI routing, semantic security and MCP traffic analytics on top of its core proxying and plugin system.

Kong Gateway

It handles proxying, routing, load balancing, health checks and authentication methods such as JWT, basic auth, OAuth and ACLs for microservices or conventional API traffic, extensible through a plugin developer ecosystem, and runs natively on Kubernetes through its own Ingress Controller with database-backed, DB-less or hybrid deployment models.

Its AI Gateway layer adds a universal LLM API across providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, Databricks, Mistral and Hugging Face, more than sixty AI features covering observability, semantic security, caching and routing, and MCP traffic governance, security, observability and autogeneration of MCP tools from an existing RESTful API.

    github.com

A local AI gateway and desktop control desk that gives coding tools one steady endpoint, so switching between AI subscriptions, API providers and local models doesn't mean reconfiguring every client.
