Konnect
A native KiCAD 10 plugin, built as a single Rust binary, that exposes schematic capture, PCB layout, routing and manufacturing-export tools to Claude and other AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol.
Konnect is a KiCAD plugin that lets AI assistants design schematics and printed circuit boards through the Model Context Protocol. It exposes more than 200 tools across schematic capture, PCB layout and routing, electrical and design-rule checks, design-review audits, part search and a manufacturing export pipeline, along with bundled skills that teach an assistant KiCAD conventions.
It is the successor to an earlier Python and TypeScript KiCAD MCP server. That project's tool calls passed through several languages, a spawned subprocess and generated proxy bindings before reaching the board, and its install required carrying two package ecosystems and a binding layer. Konnect replaces that chain with a single Rust binary and process, so a tool call is a direct function call with one dependency surface to install.
It currently ships as a beta release, and its authors also offer a separate paid web-research MCP server that can supply live parts availability and datasheets to a Konnect session.
