kooky

kooky is a minimal, open-source macOS terminal built for AI coding, with sidebar workspaces, split panes, one-click launch for AI coding agents, per-agent activity readouts, and GPU rendering via libghostty.

kooky

kooky organizes terminal work around sidebar workspaces, each tied to a folder, with three-state collapse, custom colour tags, and split panes that can be dragged between tabs, panes or windows while a session's scrollback and running process move with it. Window and tab state, including size and position, persists across launches.

It launches AI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Amp, Cursor CLI, Copilot CLI and Grok Build, with one click from a menu, and most of them resume their conversation across restarts using the CLI's own session ID, so closing and reopening a tab picks up where it left off. Each agent gets a waiting-state indicator, and some show a tool-activity pill and full session history.

It has no accounts or telemetry, keeps app state local, and is written in Swift under the MIT license.
