LiteCoder

A cross-platform, terminal-based coding agent CLI for repository-level software development, with persistent sessions, context management, durable project memory and multi-agent collaboration.

LiteCoder

LiteCoder is a Python command-line coding agent aimed at repository-level software development. It provides a streaming terminal interface alongside built-in development tools, persistent sessions that can be resumed, and context management that tracks token budgets and compacts long sessions automatically or on demand.

It connects to Anthropic Messages, OpenAI Chat Completions or OpenAI Responses-compatible APIs, applies explicit permissions to workspace changes and external side effects, redacts secrets from its output, and stores durable project knowledge as readable Markdown that later sessions can load. It can coordinate subagents, teams and background tools, run isolated Git worktrees per task, and be extended with MCP servers, lifecycle hooks, and project or user skills.

It requires Python 3.11 or later and an API key for a supported provider, and is licensed under MIT.
