m365-copilot-companion-mcp

An MCP server that gives Microsoft 365 Copilot hands on your own PC: it can read and write files, run Python, work with Office documents, OCR images, and query internal databases through a small local server.

m365-copilot-companion-mcp

The tool runs a small Python MCP server on the user's laptop and drives the Copilot web UI through an unattended relay, so Microsoft 365 Copilot can act on the local machine instead of only reading text pasted into chat.

Capabilities include reading, writing and organizing files and finding duplicates; aggregating Excel, CSV and JSON data and creating or reading Word, PowerPoint and PDF files; OCR of images and scanned PDFs; running Python on the spot to draw charts; read-only access to internal SQL databases over ODBC under the user's own Windows authentication; and running several tasks unattended in parallel.

It requires Windows 10 or 11, an existing Microsoft 365 Copilot license on a work account, and access to Copilot Studio; no additional API contract, admin rights or extra subscription is needed.
