MCP for Blender

An MCP server and matching Blender add-on that connect Blender to any large language model for prompt-assisted 3D modeling, scene creation and manipulation.

MCP for Blender

MCP for Blender (formerly blender-mcp) connects Blender to any large language model through the Model Context Protocol. It is a third-party, community-built integration, not made by Blender, for prompt-assisted 3D modeling, scene creation and manipulation driven by AI.

Setup adds the MCP server to a client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, OpenCode or Antigravity using uv/uvx, then installs a matching Blender add-on that is enabled from Blender's preferences and started from a tab in the 3D viewport.

It is written in Python and licensed under the MIT license. Only one instance of the MCP server should run at a time.
