MCP Java SDK

MCP Java SDK is a set of projects providing Java integration for the Model Context Protocol, letting Java applications interact with AI models and tools through a standardized interface with both synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns. It is validated against the official MCP conformance test suite, with published results for its server, client and Spring-based authentication support.

A companion project, Spring AI MCP, extends the SDK with Spring Boot starters for both MCP clients and servers, annotation-based method handling for defining MCP tools, and OAuth 2.0 and API-key-based security support, and can be bootstrapped through Spring Initializr. It builds from source with Maven, and its test suite requires Docker and npx.

It is maintained in collaboration with Spring AI and is licensed under MIT.
