MCP Server for Milvus

An MCP server that exposes Milvus vector database functionality to LLM applications and AI coding tools such as Claude Desktop and Cursor.

MCP Server for Milvus

This repository implements a Model Context Protocol server for Milvus, letting an MCP client such as Claude Desktop or Cursor query and interact with a running Milvus instance, local or remote, without writing custom integration code. It is run directly with uv against a Milvus URI, with connection settings configurable through an environment file or command-line arguments, where the environment file takes priority.

The server supports two modes: stdio, the default, for direct process communication with a single client, and SSE, which serves multiple clients over HTTP for web-based applications, and its SSE mode can be inspected with the MCP development inspector tool for debugging.
