Mealie MCP Server

An MCP server that lets AI assistants such as Claude Desktop manage a self-hosted Mealie recipe database, including recipes, shopping lists, categories and meal plans.

Mealie MCP Server

Mealie MCP Server exposes a Mealie recipe manager's API to MCP clients such as Claude Desktop. It supports creating, reading, updating, duplicating and deleting recipes, searching and filtering by text, categories, tags and tools, uploading or scraping images, and attaching documents.

It manages shopping lists, including bulk item operations and automatically adding a recipe's ingredients to a list, organizes recipes with categories and tags, and can find unused ones. It also covers meal planning, including bulk creation of planned meals and quick access to a day's menu.

It requires a running Mealie instance with an API key, and installs through fastmcp or by running directly with uvx. It is written in Python and licensed under MIT.
