MemPalace
MemPalace is a local-first memory system for AI agents that stores conversation history verbatim and retrieves it with semantic search, without summarizing or paraphrasing what was said.
Memory is organized into wings for people or projects, rooms for topics, and drawers for the original content, so a search can be scoped to a relevant area rather than run against one flat corpus; the retrieval backend is pluggable, defaulting to ChromaDB behind a documented interface that lets an alternative backend be dropped in.
An agent-guided setup skill detects the system, installs the Python package, configures MCP, and asks whether the user wants a private local instance, a shared hub, or a client connecting to an existing hub; a direct CLI install into an isolated environment is also documented for users who prefer that path. Optional weekly release checks only ever contact PyPI and never install an update automatically.
The README warns that only its GitHub repository, PyPI package and one documentation domain are official. Python, MIT licensed.
