MetaMCP

A self-hosted MCP proxy that aggregates multiple MCP servers into one unified endpoint and applies middleware, acting as an MCP gateway that is itself an MCP server.

MetaMCP

MetaMCP is an MCP proxy that dynamically aggregates several Model Context Protocol servers into one unified MCP server and applies middleware around them. Because MetaMCP itself speaks MCP, it can be plugged into any MCP client the same way an individual server would be.

It groups MCP servers into namespaces, exposes each namespace as a public endpoint over SSE or Streamable HTTP with authentication, and lets a client switch which namespace an endpoint serves with one click. Middleware can filter which tools from an aggregated server are exposed when remixing several servers together, and the project supports OpenID Connect authentication, traffic and rate-limit management, and registration controls aimed at enterprise deployments. It runs from a Docker Compose setup, a dev-container-based development environment, or local development, and connects to clients such as Cursor and Claude Desktop.

It is written in TypeScript and released under the MIT license.
