Microsoft Learn MCP Server
An official, free MCP server and CLI that gives AI assistants such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot and Codex direct, no-key access to current Microsoft Learn documentation and code samples.
Microsoft Learn MCP Server gives AI coding assistants direct access to official, current Microsoft documentation instead of relying only on training data or general web search. It is free, requires no API key or sign-up, and connects over the Model Context Protocol to any compatible client using a single remote endpoint reachable over Streamable HTTP.
It is intended to reduce hallucinated Azure SDK methods, invented library packages and outdated API usage by grounding an assistant's answers in first-party Microsoft documentation rather than scraped third-party sources. Example uses include Azure CLI commands, checking model availability in a given Azure region, and verifying .NET or Azure AI Foundry API usage against the current documentation.
It also offers experimental features that are under active development, and documents how to build a custom MCP client against the same endpoint.
