miii

An open-source terminal coding agent that reads a project's files, writes code, runs tests and fixes failures, working with hosted providers through the user's own API key or with fully offline local models.

miii

miii is a terminal coding agent in the style of Claude Code that plans a change, edits files, runs the project's test suite, and fixes what breaks, aimed at developers who want the same agentic workflow without being tied to one vendor or one subscription billed in a single currency. A single install command adds the CLI, and a provider is wired up either by exporting an existing API key for a hosted service such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Mistral, Together, Cerebras or xAI, or by pulling a local model through Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp or vLLM for an entirely offline, free setup.

A provider can be switched at any time from inside the tool, and any other backend that speaks the OpenAI protocol can be added the same way. It requires Node 18 or later and a POSIX shell, with file tools falling back to Node's own filesystem calls on Windows when neither git-bash nor WSL is available.
